Humanscale

Humanscale is generally recognized as the market leader in office ergonomics. We entered the articulating keyboard support market in 1997 with the Freedom Arm, which won a Best of NeoCon Award that year. By 1998, it had become the worldwide leader in sales. Our new keyboard support, the 2G, won Gold in 1999 at both NeoCon and IIDEX and picked up where the Freedom Arm left off - by being the market leader. In 1999, we entered the task seating market with the Freedom chair, which has won 7 design awards to-date - most recently a Design Distinction Award in the prestigious ID Design Review 2000 competition. The quality of our products is directly related to the ingenuity of the designers who create them. We are extremely fortunate to work with distinguished industrial designers, such as Niels Diffrient, who have literally revolutionized a number of ergonomic product categories. Niels' contributions to ergonomic seating, such as the pneumatic cylinder and knee-tilt mechanism, have been standards on task chairs for the past twenty years. We expect the same for the many innovations found on his Freedom chair. Likewise, George Mileos' Freedom Arm, which was the first to offer knob-free adjustability and total knee clearance, changed the way articulating keyboard support mechanisms were designed. The Humanscale product line, reflecting thoroughly researched ergonomic design solutions, includes task seating, articulating keyboard and mouse platforms, monitor glare filters, monitor arms, CPU holders, foot rests, ergonomic mice, in-line document holders, ergonomic software and task lighting. Founded in 1982, Humanscale maintains 14 sales offices in the United States, as well as international locations in London and Prague. Manufacturing facilities are located in Newark, NJ; Teaneck, NJ; Fresno, California and Dublin, Ireland.
